Islamabad: The federal government has reduced the prices of petroleum products by Rs. 15.39 and diesel prices by Rs. 7.88 per liter. The prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged for the next 15 days.
According to Express News, the federal government has reduced the prices of petroleum products for the second consecutive time during a month-long period.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the reduced price of petrol has gone down from Rs. 288.49 to Rs. 273.10 per liter. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has decreased from Rs. 281.96 to Rs. 274.08 per liter.
Likewise, there has been a reduction of Rs. 9.86 per liter in the price of kerosene oil and Rs. 7.54 per liter in the price of light diesel oil.
The new prices of petroleum products will be effective from midnight tonight and will remain unchanged for the next 15 days.
According to authorities, the petroleum levy on petrol and high-speed diesel is Rs. 60 per liter, which is the maximum limit for the petroleum levy.
Similarly, the petroleum levy on kerosene oil is Rs. 0.5 per liter, and it is zero on light diesel oil. However, due to fluctuations in the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil, the government does not announce their rates.
