Company Introduction:
Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Ltd (KS&EW) is a Pakistani government-owned defense contractor and military cooperation situated in West Wharf, Karachi, Sindh.
KSEW Limited is Pakistan’s oldest shipyard, providing shipbuilding, ship repair, and general heavy engineering services.
It has constructed several cargo ships, oil tankers, tugboats, support vehicles, landing crafts, naval vessels, and submarines for the Pakistan Navy.
The company also provides facilities and repairs for a wide range of civilian vessels through contracts with Pakistan National Shipping Corporation,
Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority, and various private entities across Pakistan. All sensitive government contracts of the company are under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defense.
Established as a project of the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) in the early 1950s, it was later incorporated as a public limited company in 1957 with a board of directors and managing director.
Facilities at KSEW include a large shipbuilding hall, three block fabrication areas, three shipbuilding berths, two dry docks,
a machine shop, grit blasting, painting facilities, a ship lift capacity of 7881 tons, a transfer system, and 13 parking stations.
