In response to remarks from the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), and the European Union (EU), Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) released an official statement.
The MoFA expressed surprise at the critical tone of some statements, highlighting that they overlook the complexities of the recent elections on February 8, 2024.
The ministry emphasized that these comments fail to recognize the successful and enthusiastic participation of millions of Pakistani voters.
Despite facing security threats linked to foreign-sponsored terrorism, Pakistan conducted the elections peacefully. The country views these elections as a commitment to fostering a stable and democratic society.
While appreciating constructive advice, the MoFA noted that negative comments before the completion of the electoral process are neither helpful nor fair.
Pakistan remains dedicated to building a robust democratic system, working towards this goal with each election and peaceful transfer of power.
The country’s commitment is driven by the aspirations of its people and the vision of its founding fathers, rather than external concerns.
